It was just the three of us and my camera for this intimate elopement style portrait session within the Adelaide Botanic Gardens, which is the perfect backdrop for not only elopements, but also micro weddings and larger wedding parties. There are so many backdrops and jaw dropping spots that are elegant and photogenic. If you are having an Adelaide Botanic Gardens wedding, then there is no reason to leave to find a different location; everything you need is on site and just a quick stones throw away.

Here are a few reasons to have your wedding photos in the Adelaide Botanic Gardens:

  1. Nature in the heart of the city: Tucked away in the heart of Adelaide, the Botanic Gardens unfolds a haven of greenery, blossoms, and gentle water features. It offers a peaceful setting, inviting couples to exchange vows surrounded by the quiet beauty of the outdoors.

  2. Photogenic spots: The Botanic Gardens boasts a variety of settings, each exuding its own charm. Whether it's the simplicity of a hidden pathway or the timelessness of a botanical conservatory, this venue offers authenticity at every turn. A few of my favourites include the Glass House, Palm House, the fountains and the rose garden.

  3. Convenience: With its central location, the Botanic Gardens provides a sanctuary away from the Adelaide CBD, while also being a quick stroll or drive from most churches and Adelaide wedding venues such as Ayers House for larger weddings or even the registry office for smaller elopements. You’ll find yourself forgetting that you’re in the Adelaide city with how serene and private the area feels.

  4. A bar for post-session drinks: The Adelaide Botanic Gardens doesn’t only have tranquil and peaceful scenes for your wedding photos, but also has a bar for your bridal party to have some post-session drinks. Talk about everything you need in the one place.
